What 8 Years of Holistic MS Management Taught Me 💡

"It's not a sprint, it's a marathon." 🏃♀️
I've been telling myself this from the beginning. And after 8 years of holistic MS management, I can confirm: it was the right mindset.
Because no one can live my life for me. No one feels my symptoms. No one knows my body better than I do.
I'm the one doing the work. And the results speak for themselves.
"I've never seen you this well" ✨
Last October, my osteopath — the one who's been following me for about 8 years — told me this while watching me walk.
After 8 years. 🙌
That means I'm maintaining. That I'm not deteriorating. That everything I'm doing is working together.
He also told me I'm his most conscious and motivated MS client. (Sure, I'm wrecked for 2 days after treatments, but I love him anyway. 😂)
My protocol: what has evolved 🔄
That's the most important thing — my protocol evolves. Because I listen to my body.
From Wahls to carnivore
I started with the Wahls Protocol. Nine cups of vegetables a day, the whole deal.
But after a few years... my belly and vegetables were clearly not meant to live together. Constant bloating.
So I adapted. I'm now more carnivore. And it works better for me.
Less bloating = less stress = fewer symptoms.
Medical cannabis: grown in my garden 🌱
I've had a medical permit for 6 years. I grow 8 plants every summer. This year: Super Boof, Cherry Garcia, and Freeland. Over 2 kg total.
Why these strains?
The terpenes that help with pain and stiffness: myrcene, beta-caryophyllene, linalool, humulene.
CBD alone does nothing for me. I need THC with the right terpenes. It's the entourage effect that makes the difference.
I vaporize with my PAX — no combustion, no junk.
Supplements: one at a time 💊
I don't throw 10 things at myself at once. Marathon, not sprint.
Currently: NeuroPrime, Vitamin D3-K2, bio-identical hormones, and now Lion's Mane.
I just started Lion's Mane. I'm taking the time to find the right dose before adding anything else.
Recently, a friend with MS talked about niacinamide with impressive results. But I'm going to wait. Observe. One thing at a time.
Because if I change too much at once, I'll never know what really works.
What I don't do anymore ⛔
MRIs? I don't want them anymore.
What's the point if it doesn't change my approach?
I go by how I FEEL:
Am I walking better? ✓
Am I getting up more easily? ✓
Does my osteopath say I've never been better? ✓
Those are my real indicators. Not images that will just stress me out.
Stress makes symptoms worse anyway.
The mindset that changes everything 🧠
It's not a sprint, it's a marathon.
A lot of people panic at diagnosis and want to fix everything RIGHT NOW. They try 10 things at once, get discouraged, give up...
Me, I took my time:
6 years of cannabis cultivation, perfecting it
8 years with my osteopath, regularly
Wahls that I adapted progressively
Supplements added one at a time
I know logically that some parts will always have more difficulties. But I just don't want to deteriorate.
So I maintain my pace. And it works.
The real message
No one lives in your body. No one feels your symptoms. No one can know better than you what works.
Not your neurologist who says it's just a "fad."
Not the pharmaceutical companies.
Not even your osteopath.
YOU are the one doing the work. Cultivating your cannabis. Choosing your supplements. Eating well. Listening to your body.
And after 8 years, I've never been better. I walk better. I get up more easily.
I didn't wait for a doctor to "fix" me. I took the wheel. 🚗

If you're looking for a path other than traditional medication, know this: it's possible.
It takes discipline, patience, listening to your body. But it's possible.
Start slowly. Change one thing at a time. Observe. Adjust. Continue.
It's not a sprint. It's a marathon.
And no one can do it for you. 💛
What about you, what's your approach to managing your MS?
